After a series of treatment, we have successfully treated keloids that resulted from hole deliberately puncture for the wearing of earrings in the cartilaginous part of the ear pinna. The treatments were spread over a course of 9 months. So do be careful if you have a tendency to form keloids or hypertrophy scars. Do not attempt to puncture the ear pinna.

Platelet Rich Plasma For Common Pain Syndromes and Orthopaedic Problems

In Klinik Bodycare, we have successfully used the “Platelet Rich Plasma” technique to treat some common pain syndromes and orthopaedic  problems. These problems usually arise from the repetitive use limbs and finger movements involved during household chores, work and play which cause chronic strain injuries. The repetitive nature of the tasks or chores encountered during work or play cause minor  tearing and small rupture in the tendons or ligaments of our fingers or limb joints resulting in repeated but incomplete attempt by our body to repair those tears due the reoccurrence of the stress on these ligaments from repeated use of the same body parts with resulting chronic inflammation and thus pain and swelling at the site. Inadequete rest or immobilization of sprain injuries from accidents and sports maylso result in delay healing of certain orthopaedic problems.

By utilizing the secretion of growth factors from activated platelets , we are able to hasten the healing of these injuries and subsequently reduce pain and improve and ensure the early return of function to the injured painful body parts. Platelets are harvested and concentrated from blood drawn from the patient’s own blood and then injected to the injured site or body part.

Preventing Scar Formation Post Snatch Theft Fall Scar

Deep macerated scar following a fall onto bitumen road. Sustained deep abrasion and ugly contaminated gash near the left corner of eye and cheek.

2 weeks after injury

This the image of the abrasion wound three week after debridement and wound toilet  to remove pebble and dirt under local anaesthetic infiltration. Severe post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
is becoming apparent. Deep linear gash wound is apparent at the corner of her left eye just lateral to the malar mound.

2 months after treatment started

Two months after treatment. Most of the hyperpigmentation has receded but what is still left are
the gashes which has became more shallow and had re-epithelised leaving some underlying deep hyperpigmentation.

And after biweekly treatment for three months, the hyperpigmentation and scars have much subsided. Possibility of hypertrophied scars and keloids have been avoided.

Advances in Treating Diabetic Ulcers with Stem Cell Transplant

Please note the two diabetic foot ulcers in the same foot, the larger plantar aspect at the pressure point of the foot and a smaller one at the medial aspect caused by tight fitting footwear.

Before treatment with Stem Cell Transplant on 21 March 2013.

Size of plantar ulcer before treatment : Length 25mm x width 16mm
Size of medial foot ulcer before treatment:Length 12mm x width 10mm

After a single injection of peripheral blood stem cells when patient came for review 5 days later on the 25th of March 2013

Size of plantar ulcer has shrunk to width 11mm

Length has shrunk to 21mm and has became more shallow with healthy red granulation tissue growing at the floor of the ulcer. Please note the pinkish epithelial cells closing in at the edge of the ulcer with a marginal width of 1.5 to 2 mm.

The lateral ulcer has almost healed shrinking from 12mm x 10mm to a size of about 6mm x 6mm being noticeably more shallow with granulation tissue almost completely covering the base.
